Now I realized Why Prince Siddhartha became the Buddha

Sitting aside the patient who is my relative (Nokchen), I have understood the reason why Buddha was hopeless about the human life. Today, I am feeling the same thing sitting beside as a attendant of a seriously ill patient. His eyes are filled with hopes to stand back on his feet 👣 to walk the streets of the city, his voice is full of strength to fight against the disease he has caught. His mental health seems to be reinstated with the desire to get back to normal stage but sadly, he can't be the one he aspires. As I start to relieve his sorrows, his eyes began to fill with tears, despairful tears roll down his eyes drying up on his wrinkled cheeks. His hopes about to die untied. His voice sounds regretful even after his 78th year on earth.

I could see other patients growling, screaming for painkillers, asking people to relieve them from pain, begging for medicines and some in a very critical condition. All these things are natural phenomenon of life and these things will come to us one day. Every humankind must dwell upon such things every day. Life is impermanent like the lightning in the sky. Its a flash and we must spend it fruitfully. We understand life only when we are in trouble like the patients in the hospital. We understand about doing good to others only when we suffer. We have lots of hope only when we are unable to move from the bed. It is all wrong to do so. Now I understand why Prince siddartha wanted to go away from the palace. He knew that the possession will never satiate his life. He knew that life is impermanent and he has to do something. Materials are of no use when we are admitted to hospitals. People come to see you just for some weeks and then stop seeing you again. Your hopes die young and you can't rejuvenate anymore.

We really need to practice dharma when we do have the strength and courage. We waste our time blaming people and showing inhuman behaviour's. As you can see now, life is fragile, it can break anytime. You need to make best use of life like how Buddha made use of it.

Moral: "Don't spend your life with greed, ego, and jealousy. This will lead to extreme desire and it will kill you at the end when its too late"

  1. I liked these lines: "Materials are of no use when we are admitted to hospitals. People come to see you just for some weeks and then stop seeing you again. Your hopes die young and you can't rejuvenate anymore." Thanks for sharing the story.
